Most people who want to make money blogging often have to make a crucial first decision about where they can put up their blog. And what looks like an easy question is actually one of the most important elements to blogging success. In fact, some blog service providers make blogging for money an easier task, while other providers do nothing towards that direction.

But which blog hosting services are perfect for your money-making blog, and which ones don’t cut muster? Below, we’re giving you a short list of the biggest names in blogging so that you can decide which service is best for your blog:

1. Blogger.com
The charm of Blogger.com is the fact that it’s easy to use. All you need to do is choose a username and password, fill in a few small details, and voila! Your blog is ready. There aren’t any costs, and Blogger.com assures you that you don’t need to know a single thing about blogging to put up a site with them. Unfortunately, Blogger ultimately isn’t very customizable, and is unable to support a lot of elements often found in professional blogs (e.g., static pages, plugins, and other add-ons and tools).

If you’re into blogging only as a hobby, for personal reasons, or just for kicks, Blogger’s simplicity will definitely fit your purposes, If you want to make money, however, Blogger probably can’t support your site very well, as opposed to other hosting services.

2. WordPress.com
With WordPress, bloggers have all the freedom to pick between the free blogs at WordPress.com and the self-hosted, fully-customizable blogs from WordPress.org. Basically, WordPress.com echoes the services that Blogger.com already offers, but with a few more goodies in the package. WordPress.com blogs cost nothing, are easy to set up, and don’t require a lot of hardcore internet know-how for you to maintain your blog.

WordPress.org, on the other hand, supports monetization much better than WordPress.com can. The downloadable blogging software doesn’t cost a thing, and, unlike WordPress.com, will let you add thousands of free templates and money-making plugins to enhance your blog’s functionality. The problem with this is that you’ll have to find and pay for web hosting to your own blog. WordPress.org also tends to be very confusing to newbie bloggers, and will actually require at least some technical skills before you can finally put up your blog.

3. SOLOBIS.net
Our exciting new service provides free SOLOBIS.net WordPress Blogs, which gives bloggers the best of both the WordPress.com and WordPress.org worlds. Throw in our focus on helping our users make money with their blogs, and you have an unbeatable combination for those who want to blog for a living (or earn a fortune with it).

Upon signing up for a free SOLOBIS account with us, you will immediately receive a blog that has a SOLOBIS.net subdomain (e.g., www.jacksmith.solobis.net). SOLOBIS.net blogs are run on the WordPress engine, which is good news for WordPress enthusiasts, since you’ll already be familiar with the controls.

The great thing about SOLOBIS.net is that we’ve done most of the work for you, having pre-installed the best templates and money-making WordPress plugins in every blog. You don’t have to go hunting for good plugins anymore, since our blogs already have the best that the WordPress community has to offer.

This is a blessing for beginner bloggers, since it’s simple and profitable, but it also benefits more experienced bloggers, who can only stand to earn more as they make money blogging.

Although Blogger.com and WordPress.com are great for beginners, they fail to provide adequate support for blogs that exist to make money for their owners. And while WordPress.org definitely provides top-notch service and a lot of customization legroom, turning up a profit can take a long while, since you’ll have to do all the testing work on your own.

With SOLOBIS.net, however, a blogger doesn’t have to be an expert to start making money right away – all the tools are already there, waiting to be used on your journey to your online fortune. You can’t find a better combination of convenience, versatility, and profitability as the one that we are already offering to you, our users.

It’s easy to take your profile page in your blog for granted, but if you really want to make money blogging and let your readers view you more seriously, you better start polishing up your About Me page.

After all, your blog isn’t just about your products or what you know — it’s also about you as a blogger and your unique style in delivering quality content and information to your visitors.

And when your readers are impressed with the work you’ve done on your blog, they would naturally want to know more about you and your background as an expert in your niche. That’s where your Profile Page comes in handy.

In fact, your Profile Page isn’t just for your blog’s casual readers. It’s also for some of your more discerning and choosy visitors, such as advertisers who might want to pay for a spot in your blog.

Your “About Me” page should therefore be filled with your credentials, as well as your professional experience that’s built you into the expert you are now. Of course, there’s no rigid formula as to what your About Me page should contain, and it all depends on the subject matter of your blog.

If your blog deals with serious matters that place a high premium on your credentials, then it’s best to sound formal and professional. On the other hand, a food blogger’s profile page need not be as stiff, and can actually benefit from being a little whimsical or witty.

On to business! To get started with your profile page, you might want to begin with the basics. For instance, you can start with your educational background, as Sen Ze himself does in his own profile page on his blog.

You can then talk about your early forays into your profession, just so readers know how long you’ve been engaged in your niche.

Take a look at how Sen Ze starts his profile:

“I qualified as a Barrister-at-Law from Lincoln’s Inn, UK. I then practiced as a lawyer for 3 years, before making the switch to E-Commerce by joining an Internet company selling business information over the Internet to investors from all over the world, in 1995.”

Because Sen Ze’s blog isn’t about law or legal matters, he doesn’t dwell on the fact that he went to law school or that he actually practiced as a lawyer. Instead, he zooms in on crucial facets of his professional history that are directly related to his current business, which deal with internet marketing and e-Commerce.

When you get to the meat of your About Me page, you should start ticking off your accomplishments in your field. What have you done that boosts your credibility as an expert? Why should your readers trust you and the information you provide them?

Write down all your relevant achievements and accomplishments, particularly in your niche. Pay attention, for example, at how Sen Ze goes into detail about what he’s done in his field:

“I started selling my own products and services on the Internet sometime in 1999. With the valuable experience gained as an Entrepreneur working without any employees and earning a great income in my Pajamas, I started a series of talks and mega Boot Camps on the topic of making money online. My latest Internet Coaching Program is found at http://DigitalHeavenBootCamp.com.

“I’ve spoken to over 20,000 people in the process and personally trained hundreds of them to get started with their own Internet Businesses that require the lowest amount of investment possible.

“I’ve authored the best-sellers, “How To Use The Internet To Earn US Dollars In Your Pajamas” (http://www.mph.com.my/search/nsearch.cfm?do=detail&pcode=9833789129), “How To Use The Internet To Earn A Massive, Passive Income In Your Pajamas” (http://www.mph.com.my/search/nsearch.cfm?do=detail&pcode=9834161158), “Sen Ze’s Mini-Encyclopedia Of Low-Cost, High-Profit Internet Business Models” (http://SenZe.com), and most recently “The AirAsia Story” (http://www.mph.com.my/search/nsearch.cfm?do=detail&pcode=9833789145).”

Notice that he mentions exactly when he started selling his own products and services. He also talks about other things that he’s done with respect to his niche, such as conducting training programs and talks through which he shares his knowledge to an audience.

This way, Sen Ze’s readers will know that he’s no neophyte when it comes to imparting valuable information to other people who want to make money the way he did. By mentioning the fact that he’s given talks, written and published best-sellers, and addressed an audience multiple times, he’s telling you that he is to be trusted, and that a great number of people recognize his standing as an expert in his field.

Once you’ve done this, it’s time to direct your readers’ attention to what you’re currently preoccupied with. What are you doing now? Is blogging the only thing you’re involved in, or are you juggling it with other professional endeavors? What are your goals and your mission as far as your career is concerned?

List them down, just as Sen Ze does here:

“I’m currently running a company that provides e-commerce solutions and services to Internet Entrepreneurs from all over the world, at http://www.SOLOBIS.net, http://www.SOLOBIS.com and http://www.SOLOBIS.info.

“I’m at my best sharing powerful business concepts with individuals who refuse to conform to their rigid employment terms and conditions, or to the hand that fate dealt them.

“I’m making it my life mission to empower every individual to reach greater heights on his way to financial freedom which he’s absolutely capable of doing, as long as he has the right attitude and provided the right guidance and training. My other site at http://www.SenZe.com is fully committed to this goal.”

Finally, your closing lines are a good time to show your readers that you’re human, that you aren’t just a money-making machine without any capacity for fun or humor. What are your hobbies? What do you do when you want to wind down at the end of the day?

Show a bit of your more personal side at this point, but don’t overdo it! Nobody wants to hear about how your divorce has been the worst experience of your life, or what you really think of organized religion. You don’t want your profile page to be an awkward experience for your visitors and potential advertisers, so keep things lighthearted and easygoing, as Sen Ze does here:

“For fun and to invoke powerful universal laws that can change our lives for the better, I organize the Life Changing Party, found at http://LifeChangingParty.com. This Party harnesses the Law of Attraction for individuals who wish to improve on their current standings and results in a very clean environment of fun and laughter amongst other like-minded and ambitious individuals.

In my free time I play with my 2 sons, currently aged 3 1/2 years and 1 1/2 years respectively. They exhaust me no end, and it’s a joy to watch them growing day by day. I simply wouldn’t trade this experience for anything else. ”

Again, keep in mind that the rules for making a profile page are elastic, and that you don’t have to follow all these suggestions to the letter.

Tailor-fit your About Me page to your blog’s theme and objectives, and be as real as you can when you talk about yourself and your accomplishments. Resist the urge to be cocky (unless it sells more of your products and you’re comfortable with it), and don’t even think about embellishing your achievements, since that can only wreck your reputation the moment someone calls your bluff.

In general, just remember to stick to what’s relevant to your niche and your line of expertise, and don’t be afraid to get a little personal so your readers can identify with you a bit more.

Once you keep all of these in mind, you shouldn’t have any trouble drawing up your own profile page and making it fit into the structure and direction of your blog.
